Rockhounding Tours

The newest addition to our travel line-up, Rock On! Tours was launched in May 2010 with A Rockhound’s Tour of England. Future tours to other mineral-rich destinations are in the planning stages. Designed especially for rockhounds and mineral enthusiasts, we tour geologically significant sites, visit important mines, enjoy behind-the-scenes viewing of mineral collections that are not normally accessible to the public and even do some collecting and lapidary work. A highlight of our Rock On! tours is the opportunity to visit these remarkable sites in the company of others who share your enthusiasm for the wonderful world of rock and minerals!

Our Rockhound’s Tour of England included visits to locations in London, Derbyshire, Cheddar Gorge, and Cornwall. Some of the destinations under consideration for future tours include: China, Spain, and a dinosaur-focused tour (for kids with their parents or grandparents) in the western United States.

Rock-On tours are a collaboration between Stevie Mack and Kitty Williams of CRIZMAC (the company’s President and Vice President respectively) and Rock and Gem magazine. Our inaugural tour to England was led by Bob Jones, a very knowledgeable and prolific author, and the Senior Editor of the magazine. Leaders of future tours may vary, but holding to the high standard set by Bob Jones, all will be experts in their fields.
