both made us feel like we were friends of yours and your hospitality
was so warm and genuine. No wonder CRIZMAC is so successful!”
—Sheila Weiss • Alexandria, VA
“I felt that Stevie and Kitty truly invested themselves
in making sure everyone had an exciting art and cultural-filled,
and comfortable experience—down to the smallest (but none
the less important) detail.”
—Mary McGeehan • Pleasant Ridge, MI
William A. Fry, Ph.D.
Bill Fry taught literature and writing at a Maryland college for
more than thirty years, where he served as Chair of the Literature
Department and developed a series of literary travel-study tours,
both domestic and international. Dr. Fry was named Outstanding Professor
for the State of Maryland in 1987 and received Professor
of the Year award in 1990. Since retiring to Tucson in 2001, Dr.
Fry has developed and taught a wide variety of literature courses
for the Learning Curve, a provider of non-credit courses in the
arts and humanities. Most recently, Dr. Fry served as co-leader
of CRIZMAC’s Magnet of New Mexico tour, which focused on Mabel
Dodge Luhan and the many writers and artists she hosted in her Taos
home.
“It was so wonderful to be a part of the tour. I realize
now, although I always knew, that art and literature are really
the essence of my life. I can’t thank Bill Fry enough—he
was just wonderful!”
— Amy Breeler • Tucson, AZ
“What a wonderful week of learning! And a lot of it was
due to Bill Fry. I appreciate not only his insightful lectures and
the way he combines the literature with the place and the author,
but also the warmth of his personality that reaches out and binds
us all together.”
— Molly Webster • Tucson, AZ
“Bravo! The seminar met and exceeded my expectations in
all aspects. Kitty, Stevie, and Bill, all vibrant personalities
and their presentations (lectures) showed hours of preparation,
research and study. They left nothing to chance.”
— Mary Torrey Dooms • Tucson, AZ
“The trio, Bill, Stevie, and Kitty, were the most important
ingredient in making this trip so special. They set the standard
(organization, knowledge, etc.) but most importantly, they were
so friendly, caring and lots of fun. There was always laughter and
lots of smiles for the group.”
— Anne Kreutzmann • Tucson, AZ
