| The exquisite light and vast expanses of the high New Mexican desert have long inspired artists and writers, including many remarkable women—both past and present. From an artistic perspective, Stevie Mack will guide our exploration of the spectacular black pottery of Maria Martinez, the brilliant canvases of Georgia O’Keeffe, and the contemporary sculptures of Roxanne Swentzell. And, on the literary front, Dr. Bill Fry delves into works by celebrated authors Willa Cather, Mary Austin, and Mabel Dodge Luhan. Join us amid New Mexico’s stunning fall scenery as we explore the lives and legacies of these famous “desert divas.”
